About Jackson, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Jackson is a city located in Breathitt County, Kentucky. The city serves as the seat of government for Breathitt County and is the largest city therein. It is estimated by the United States Census Bureau that about 2,200 people lived in Jackson, Kentucky in 2016.

Jackson was formed after local landowner Simon Cockrell Sr. donated 10-acres of land in Breathitt County for the purpose of forming a county seat. Before the new community was incorporated by the state legislature in 1843, it was known by many different names. However, once the community was incorporated it was renamed Jackson in honor of Andrew Jackson, former President of the United States.

Despite the small size of Jackson, Kentucky, there are many attractions located throughout the city. Jackson is home the Breathitt County Museum and many community parks. Also located in Jackson are several locally owned businesses and churches including Kentucky Fried Chicken, Wendy’s, Chen’s Asian Buffet, and Holy Cross Catholic Church. Many outdoor recreational opportunities are located within a short distance of Jackson as well.
